Breathscan Detector

The breathscan alcohol test is the simplest to use of the disposable breath alcohol tests. 

Features:

• Disposable 1 time use
• Pass/ fail at two different levels
• Easy to use; blow directly into the test
• Lowest detection level of any disposable breath test
• Crystals in the ampule are unaffected by heat and cold resulting in unlimited shelf life

Process:

1. The user crushes the test between the fingers
2. Blows into the test for 12 seconds
3. Readings are made in two minutes by noting the presence of a color change from yellow to aqua (blueish green)

Detection Levels:

• .02 is recommended for agencies testing for zero tolerance programs
• .04 is popular for employee testing and other situations where a higher threshold level is required
• .08 is also available

Different states and countries have different allowable limits for the presence of alcohol in a person's system. Therefore, we offer testers that match the different levels.

The BreathScan Detector Works as Follows:

• Ethyl alcohol in the blood escapes through the lung tissue into the exhaled breath.
• The presence of ethlyl alcohol in the breath is detectable by a color change of very sensitive chemically coated crystals contained in the BreathScan tester.
• When the subject exhales into the tube, the fresh crystals interact with the breath vapor and change color from yellow to blue if alcohol is present.
• If all the crystals change color completely, this indicates that the subject's blood alcohol level is at or over the level being tested.

The accuracy of this chemical reaction has been scientifically documented, and is the type of reaction which is utilized in legally substantiated test devices used by law enforcement agencies.

Each tester is good until the glass ampule inside the tester is broken.
