Kontes* Valved & Threaded NMR Tubes
Are designed to improve sample handling for the investigation of volatile, air-sensitive and toxic compounds. Condensing takes place directly into the NMR tube using vacuum techniques. A special KONTES HI-VAC* valve allows for sample recovery and resealing as opposed to the permanent "seal-off" method.
The HI-VAC valve features a borosilicate glass body and PTFE plug so that the sample is only in contact with inert materials. The valve is greaseless to eliminate the risk of sample contamination and its rotationally symmetrical design, with two lateral ports located near the valve seat, permits use at higher pressures. A glass tube with an o-ring seal is used to connect the valved NMR tube to a vacuum system.
Are available in 7, 8 and 9 in. lengths for 5 mm OD tubes, and 7 in. length for 10 mm OD tubes. All sizes use precision grade NMR tubes suitable for use in instruments with a higher field strength (>360 MHz).
Threaded NMR Tubes
Threaded NMR tubes with caps and septum facilitate sample storage and allow for access to the sample with a syringe. These tubes can be easily cleaned and reused, and the cap and PTFE-lined septa are replaceable. The KONTES threaded NMR tubes can be used for air-sensitive samples and reaction studies where compounds are added through the septum cap. Available in 5 and 10 mm OD tubes, both sizes utilize a high precision grade NMR tube for field strengths greater than 360 MHz.
