Flow adapters can significantly improve the performance of columns by eliminating any dead volume above the gel bed. Flow adapters are recommended when using buffer gradients, for reverse flow applications and for high resolution gravity flow chromatography. The 2.5 and 4.8 cm sizes have a unique adjustment mechanism that prevents any void area from occurring when the O-ring seal is tightened. The 1.0 cm size uses a static O-ring design. AQ flow adapters have acetal bodies with 10 micron porosity nylon bed supports and Viton* O-rings. OR flow adapters have PEEK bodies with 10 micron porosity PTFE bed supports and Kalrez* O-rings. Both AQ and OR flow adapters are supplied with five feet (1.5 meters) of PTFE tubing.
Packing reservoirs are ideal for packing gel slurries into columns. Each packing reservoir is designed for easy mounting on the CHROMAFLEX* Columns. The capacities are matched to take the amount of gel slurry required to pack the longest column. The packing reservoirs may also be used as a buffer reservoir for gravity flow chromatography. Supplied complete with tubing nut, ferrule and five feet of tubing.
