Whatman* Cyclopore* Membranes
Cyclopore uses a patented process to produce various types of thin, microporous membranes with geometrically perfect cylindrical pores and a smooth flat surface. Cyclopore Polycarbonate Membranes feature a zero level of nonspecific protein binding. The high selectivity of these membranes allows precise particle separation and fractionation. Additionally, the smooth and flat surface provides an excellent support for all applications requiring detailed observation of collected samples. Suitable for such applications as fractionation of particulate aggregates, filtration of critical solutions, gravimetric analysis, cell harvesting, crossflow filtration, environmental control, air monitoring and stabilization of beverages. They are free of contaminants, have low tare weight and show negligible water absorption. Cyclopore Transparent Membranes are truly transparent. In addition to their absolute clarity, the complete absence of background fluorescence and nonspecific protein binding of these transparent membranes make them ideal for cytological examinations. The ultra low level of polarization allows direct examination of samples without adding cleaning solutions. Applications include biological fluid analysis, detection and counting of microorganisms, environmental control, laser and infrared spectroscopy (IS) and cytological diagnosis. Cyclopore Polyester Membranes are resistant to a large range of chemically active fluids and feature a zero level of protein binding. The high selectivity and the perfect homogeneity of these membranes provide an outstanding cutoff for all applications involving critical separations. Cyclopore polyester membranes are resistant to most organic solvents, amides and halogenated hydrocarbons. Applications include clarification and filtration of corrosive fluids, HPLC solvent purification, solvent extraction, isotope gas enrichment applications, petrochemical analysis and particle analysis in corrosive fluids.
