Alpha-numeric screen, keypad and program naming with fast track programming using ready-to-go templates. RS232 connection allows remote operation of the cycler from a PC (software available from the Techne website). Blocks are interchangeable available for 25 x 0.2 ml micro tubes/5 x 5 multiwell plate and 20 x 0.5 ml microcentrifuge tubes.
Suitable for use with diagnostic kits. High speed allows a typical 30 cycle program to be completed in around 1 hour, enabling the operator to complete more work in a day. Using advanced peltier technology, the Techgene is capable of heating/cooling rates better than 2.0° - 3.0°C/second (average cooling and heating) and using a high tolerance thermistor sensor to give a temperature stability of ±0.1°C and a block uniformity of ±0.5°C. Incremental/decremental segment hold time allowing the user to increase or decrease the hold time of a given segment hold with each cycle reducing denaturing time and preserve taq activity.
